About the Author

Stephan Lee

Stephan (pronounced “Steffen,” not Stefon or Steven) Lee is the author of the soon-to-be-completed adult literary novel Must Be Nice, which he’s been working on his entire adult life. While working — or ruminating — on his magnum opus, he established a career as the author of young adult novels K-Pop Confidential and its sequel K-Pop Revolution, standalone rom-com Like We Were in Paris (May 2026), and middle grade novel Donutella Hamachi and the Library Avengers and its as-yet untitled sequel, written with drag superstar Kim Chi. He was also a staff writer and editor at Entertainment Weekly and Bustle. Currently, he works in editorial at Netflix.

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, he is a graduate of Duke University and earned an MFA from The New School. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his Marcel, his adorable Frenchie named after Proust. He finds it awkward that these bios are always written in third person.
